In today’s run of previews, we look at Stormcharge Vod:Bul Racing. An entirely new team with new drivers as well who have decided to take up the challenge of the Top Division of Formula SimRacing. Not much is known about them within Formula SimRacing but it will be refreshing to see a new car on the grid and it will be interesting to see how their partnership pans out with VBMadCape considering the strong drivers the latter has acquired in all divisions.

Their driver line up which they have managed to acquire for the 2017 season consists of Risto Kappet and Lars Brugman. Both are very experienced in other rFactor 2 simracing leagues such as GPVWC and both looked very strong in the preseason races which were hosted over the last few weeks with Risto and Lars notably fighting for the top positions on two separate occasions.

The livery they are sporting this year is a very similar rendition to the one which was used on the VBMadCape car last year albeit with a few Stormcharge logos fitted on there to make their presence known. It shall certainly be a question on all of our lips this year to see how Vod:Bul fair in one of the toughest challenges of them all.

We managed to catch up with both drivers earlier.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Risto: “Not get lapped in the first race, be a regular podium contender by mid-season and to win the team title!”

Lars: “Getting into the top 5 of the Driver’s Championship and help the team get the constructors championship.”

Who do you think will be your biggest rival this season?

Risto: “GhostSpeed and Mr Brugman.”

Lars: “Our sister team of VBMadcape and my teammate Risto.”

How strong do you think the grid looks this year?

Risto: “I have only raced against my teammate in the past and from the whole grid, I only know Simoncic having raced against the people I have, but it will be top level for sure, we will know after Round 1.”

Lars: “There are quite a few names I don’t recognise, so it’s difficult to say at the moment.”
